Five out of 17 electoral areas to vote in Shama District

Shama (WR), Dec. 30, GNA – Only five out of the 17 electoral areas within the Shama District are voting in the District Assembly and Unit Committee elections on Thursday. Ms Ekua Ampaabeng, District Electoral Officer told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the ballots papers available for the elections are for Ituma/ Komfueku, Essaman, Obiyemkyen and Upper and Lower Inchaban electoral areas. She did not say when the remaining 12 electoral areas would hold the elections. However a visit by the GNA to some voting centres showed low patronage of the exercise.
