Tema, Sept. 20, GNA – Three out of five young men, including a pupil, who defiled a 15 year old girl at Ashaiman appeared before a Tema public tribunal on Monday.

They are Baba Alhassan alias Babs, butcher, Richard Kojo Quaye, student, and Emmanuel Yeboah alias Dada Kwabena, pupil. They pleaded not guilty and were remanded in custody till September 23. The two others who are on the run are Mubarik and Abubakari.

Chief Inspector Edith Nutakor told the tribunal chaired by Mr Ringo Cass Azumah that the victim lives with her mother at Frafra market area at Ashaiman in the same vicinity as Quaye and Mubarik. Alhassan and Abubakari live at Tulaku, also in Ashaiman.

She said at about 4.30 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, the victim visited her friend and while returning home, met Alhassan, Quaye and Mubarik.

They invited her to accompany them to visit someone at Tulaku and as she obliged they went into Alhassan’s room Alhassan and Mubarik proposed to have an affair with her but she refused and as she decided to leave Alhassan drew a knife and threatened her.

According to Chief Inspector Nutakor the girl cried for help but Quaye, Yeboah, and Abubakari, who had been waiting in the shadows, rushed into the room and helped to undress her.

They then had sex with her in turns, with Alhassan and Mubarik having second turns. The girl was left bleeding profusely. The girl later reported the matter to her mother who led her to the police.

The prosecutor said the accused would undergo medical examination to ascertain whether any of them has a venereal disease or AIDS.
