Five killed in accident at Apedwa

Suhum, March 19, GNA – Five persons including the driver of a Benz bus with registration number ER 611 N died on the spot when their vehicle collided with an articulator truck with registration number GE 28823Z at Apedwa on Thursday morning. The driver was identified as Kwabena Yeboah but the four others have not been identified. Three other passengers who sustained injuries are on admission at the Suhum Government Hospital. The bus was travelling from Kwahu-Tafo to Accra whiles the articulator truck, which was carrying a 20-foot container, was from Tema to Kumasi.

An officer of the Eastern Regional Motor Transport and Traffic Unit (MTTU) told the GNA that the driver of the articulator truck, in an attempt to by-pass a stationery vehicle, moved into the lane of the bus.

The head of the articulator truck detached from the body and collided with the bus killing the five. The driver of the articulator truck, Abdul Razak Abanga, is assisting the police in investigations. 19 March 09
