Five die in accident on Accra-Kumasi highway

Nkawkaw (E/R), Nov. 21, GNA – Four persons died on the spot and one later at the Nkawkaw Holy Family Hospital when a Mercedes Benz tipper truck with registration No. GE 8270 X was in a heard-on collision with a Daewoo Tico taxi with registration number GR1357 Q loaded with six passengers at Amanfrom near Nkawkaw in the early hours of Tuesday.

Two others who sustained server injuries are responding to treatment at the Holy Family Hospital, while the dead bodies have been deposited at the Kwahu Government Hospital mortuary at Atibie. According to a police source, one of the dead has been identified as Abdul Aziz, driver of the Tico taxi cab.

The police said the driver of the tipper truck, Kwasi Boateng, who sustained minor injuries, had been treated and discharged. The dead included one female, one young boy and three male adults. 21 Nov. 06
