Fisherman jailed two years for stealing

Elmina, (C/R) March 13, GNA – Kwamena Essuon, a 28- year- old fisherman from Elmina, was on Friday sentenced to two years imprisonment by a magistrate’s court at Elmina for stealing a quantity of engine oil valued at 440,000.00 cedis.

He pleaded guilty.

Prosecuting, chief inspector Keyward Adjei told the court that last Wednesday, Essuon unlawfully entered the Goil petrol filling station at Elmina.

The prosecution said Essuon stole a can containing 10 gallons of engine oil, which had been placed under a shed in front of the filling station.

the service station manager who was watching him raised the alarm and the accused took to his heels, but he was chased and arrested.
