Fisherman drowns in Trapa Lagoon

Anyakpor G/A), Dec. 20, GNA — The body of a 42-year old fisherman, Whana Ocansey, who drowned in the Trapa Lagoon at Anyakpor in the Dangme East District, has been found by family members.

The Ada Foah Police confirmed the story and said Ocansey went on a fishing expedition but did not return home and a search team was dispatched to look for him.

Sergeant Oduro of the Ada Foah Police said when the police arrived at the scene they had information that the family was preparing to bury the deceased secretly to avoid incurring cost by reporting the incident. He said the police believed that the body had been tampered with by the family and described as baseless their claim that they suspected a foul play.
