Fisherman drowns in sea

Apam, June 21, GNA – Kwabena Anobil, a 20-year-old fisherman from Apam drowned when he slipped from his canoe and fell into the sea. Nana Kwabena Okaikoi, chief fisherman of Apam, told the GNA that Anobil and some friends on June 17 went to collect fish from a fishing boat 15 nautical miles from the land. Nana Okaikoi said while loading the fish into the canoe, Anobil slipped into the sea and was not seen again. He said a search party had been organized to look for the body and appealed to fishermen to be extra careful at sea.
