Fisherman bonded to be of good behaviour for two years

Cape Coast, June 01, GNA – Cudjoe Gokah, 19-year-old fisherman, was on Tuesday bonded to be of good behaviour for two year by a circuit court at Cape Coast for stealing 1.430 million cedis belonging to one Mr Sylvanus Amudzi.

Gokah, who pleaded guilty, would go to prison for one year in default.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Azasoo told the court that Gokah was an employee of Mr Amudzi and used to live with him in his house at Duakor but later left due to petty pilfering.

He said on April 30 Mr Amudzi left for a funeral in the near by village and Gokah took advantage of his absence and broke into his room and stole the money.

When Amudzi returned and detected the theft he suspected Gokah and confronted him but he denied the theft.

When he was searched, 430,000.00 cedis were found in his pocket. 01 June 05
