First Woman Judicial Secretary appointed

Accra, Nov. 26, GNA – The Judicial Service on Friday named Mrs Regina Ayerko Apotsi as the first woman Judicial Secretary. A statement on Friday signed by Adbullah Iddrisu, Acting Deputy Judicial Secretary, said she would assume duty on December 1, 2004. Mrs Apotsi was born on April 28, 1946 and attended Sekondi College and Aburi Girls’ Secondary School where she obtained her GCE “O” and “A” levels in 1966 and 1968, respectively.

A lawyer by profession, she is the current Chief Director of the Ministry of Justice and Attorney-General’s Department and Secretary of the Legal Service Board. Mrs Apotsi was also a Director at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service from 1992 to 1997.
