First Moslem to make Pilgrimage to Mecca in Nkoranza dies

Kranka (B/A), Nov 14, GNA- The death has occurred at Kranka in the Nkoranza District of Brong-Ahafo of Alhaji Abubakari Kwasi Wiafe, first Moslem in the district to make the pilgrimage to Mecca. He was 95 years.

Mr. Benjamin N. Oppong-Danquah, a nephew of the deceased told Ghana News Agency (GNA) that his late uncle was a blacksmith and worked in a number of towns in the Bole district of the Northern Region.

He has since been buried according to the Muslim custom. The late Alhaji left behind more than 65 children and grand and great-grand children.
