First Lady returns home

The First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings has returned home from Washington after attending an international conference on the “Education of the Girl-Child – An Imperative”, organised by United States and UNICEF. Briefing newsmen at the airport, Nana Konadu highlighted on the social, economic, religious, traditional and customary aspects of the education of the girl-child. She said a number of countries agreed to commit money to encourage the education of the girl-child. The First Lady was accompanied by Mrs Edith Haizel of the 31st December Women’s Movement.
