First Lady In Kigali

The First Lady, Mrs Theresa Kufuor, leaves Accra today for Kigali in Rwanda to attend a day?s steering committee meeting of the Organisation of First Ladies Against AIDS (OFLAA).

The aim of the meeting is for the first ladies to touch base with one another on their programmes of activities for the past year and also to tell one another what they intend doing in the coming years.

OFLAA was created in Geneva in July 2002 following a series of consultations among African first ladies.

At the meeting, 37 first ladies and their representatives signed the OFLAA framework for action to combat HIV/AIDS.

Mrs Kufuor, elected Vice-President at the OFLAA conference two years ago, has been re-elected for a second term.
