Fire volunteers urged to be vigilant on bushfire

Nyinahin (Ash), Jan 16, GNA – A fire volunteer has appealed to fire volunteers in the Atwima-Mponua District to be vigilant and even search farmers, palm wine tapers and hunters before they leave for their farms to avoid setting bushfires during the harmattan period. Any one caught causing bushfire in the district would be dealt with.

Mr Peter Yaw Segbefia, the leader of the fire volunteers in the district, made the call at a meeting of the volunteers held at Nyinahin. He advised farmers to seek assistance from the volunteers in their communities before burning their farms to prevent the spread of fires to other farms. 16 Jan 07
