Fire Service Supplies Oxygen to KATH

Ashanti regional office of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on Friday filled two cylinders belonging to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi with oxygen following shortage of oxygen at the facility weeks ago.

The only referral health facility has been out of oxygen which has resulted in the death of some patients.

Speaking to Ultimatefmonline.com, the regional Deputy Chief Fire Officer DCFO Semekor Fiadzoe explained that the cylinders of KATH were compatible with theirs.

‘We were touched by the situation, so we met the officer in charge at KATH and luckily enough, their cylinders were compatible with ours, so we filled the cylinders for them, we did it at no cost, we didn’t even talk about money. We have oxygen in large quantities, we can even supply additional ones, the oxygen given out is the same our men use when dousing fire,’ he said.
