Fire razes police quarters at Berekum

Police quarters in Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region has been burnt to ashes.

Speaking to atinkaonline, Mr. Kwaku Effah Aborroway, a local reporter mentioned that the police quarters was empty during the fire outbreak and that no life was lost . He added that properties belonging to the police personnel were however destroyed . The said incident occurred Thursday around 3 pm.

According to the reporter, some residents living around the police quarters noticed smoke from the police quarters and alerted the Ghana National Fire Service.

He added that upon arrival, the fire officers realized that they did not have enough water in their fire tenders to fight the fire and decided to go back for more water . The quarters was completely burnt when they came back again.

He mentioned that the quarters has since reported the issue to the coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) for assistance.
