Fire razes 17 ‘wooden apartments’ at Tema-Manhean

About 17 wooden structures were completely destroyed following a fire outbreak at Tema-Manhean Monday afternoon.

According to neighbours, the wooden structures caught fire after a domestic gas cylinder exploded in one of the apartments.

It took hours before officers of the Ghana Fire Service brought the fire under control.

The officials explained that the combustible nature of wood coupled with the poor route to the area, contributed to the delay in fighting the fire.
