Takoradi, July 30, GNA — Fire has gutted one of the shops of the Western Veneer Lumber Limited, a timber firm in Takoradi on Friday.

The inferno destroyed some wood products and property worth thousands of Cedis.

Confirming the fire incident to the GNA in Takoradi, the Western Regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service, Mr Stephen Oscar Cobbinah, said the fire outbreak occurred around 1600hours on July 29.

He said his men moved to the company’s premises immediately upon hearing the information and helped to bring the raging fire under control.
