Fire guts out in an industrial chemical shop at Takoradi

Takoradi, Jan. 20, GNA – Fire broke out in an industrial chemical shop at Great Hawaii in Takoradi on Monday destroying products worth over GH¢30,000. Mr Kwakye Gyamfi, the owner of the shop said the incident took place between 1045 hours and 1100 hours. He said a noise was heard at the shop and when people went in check they found the shop burning with heavy smoke coming out. Mr Gyamfi said an hour later, the Ghana National Fire Service arrived and managed to put off the fire but he suffered some burns on his legs. He said he was treated and discharged later in a hospital. He said items that got destroyed included Vaseline, mentholated spirit, mentor crystal and invoice booklets. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
