Fire guts 15 houses in Western region

About 15 houses were razed down by fire at Tanokrom in the newly created Effia Constituency of the Western Region in the early hours of Thursday.

About 23 people have been displaced and properties running into thousands of Ghana cedis have been lost.

A local Journalist with Kyzz Fm in Takoradi, Saeed Hamid Jallo who was at scene of the fire reported that owners of the various houses failed to salvage a single property as their houses were being gutted by the fire.

Meanwhile, a team of officials from the national disaster management Organisation has been to the scene of the fire to assess the situation.

The presiding member of Tanokrom Mohammed Ali speaking to XYZ News said relief items are underway for the victims.
