Fire engulfs Navrongo Central Market

Properties running into thousands of cedis have been destroyed in a fire outbreak at the Navrongo Central market.

Though the cause of the fire is unknown, Richard Addo; an eyewitness who spoke to Citi News says the situation is terrible.

He also said there are no fire service personnel on the ground to fight the fire.

“There are no fire service personnel at the scene. Even if they are to come now, they won’t be able to do much to salvage the situation because the fire is very huge,” he stated.

Mr. Addo also stated, “People are hurriedly removing their things from their shops to prevent them from being consumed by the fire.”

“There are a lot of people around as today is a market day in Navrongo,” he added.

There have been a spate of fires at markets across the country, the causes of which are yet to be determined.
