Fire destroys property at Sekyere-Krobo

Sekyere-Krobo (W/R), Dec. 19, GNA 96 Personal belongings and more than 300 million cedis cash were destroyed when fire engulfed a house at Sekyere-Krobo in the Mpohor Wassa East district on Tuesday. Household electrical appliances including a television set and radio, furniture, clothes, cooking utensils and packets of roofing sheets were among items that got burnt.

An eyewitness told the Ghana News Agency that the fire started in the early hours and that an alarm was raised for help but the blaze became so intense that no one could go near it. Madam Mary Annan, the landlady, has appealed for help, especially for a nursing mother, a tenant, who lost all her property and money. Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
