Fire destroys poultry farm

Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A), Jan. 21, GNA – A fire outbreak has razed a poultry farm at Dormaa Ahenkro killing 300 out of its 500 birds. Mr. Ansu Atta, owner of the farm told the Ghana News Agency that damage caused was estimated at more than 10 million cedis. The Dormaa District Fire Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Sarfo, said it took a combined team of fire personnel from Dormaa and Berekum districts and some neighbours about an hour to control the fire.

He explained that the team had to fall on the Berekum office as the o0nly fire tender in the Dormaa District had broken down. Mr Ansu said investigations were underway to determine the cause of the fire.
