Fire destroys electrical shops

Akim Oda, Jan. 18, GNA – Property worth more than 50 million cedis was destroyed when fire gutted two auto-electrical shops at Akim Oda on Saturday.

Items destroyed included car batteries, spraying machines and spare parts.

Mr Stephen Quansah, one of the owners of the shops, told the Ghana News Agency that the fire was detected at about 2300 hours and efforts to quench it was to no avail.

He appealed to the National Disaster Management Organization for support.
