Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson will today, July 24, 2025, present the highly anticipated Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament, outlining the government’s fiscal performance for the first half of the year and adjustments to current economic strategies.
This presentation, mandated by Section 28 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921), is expected to provide updates on revenue mobilization, expenditure, debt levels, and macroeconomic indicators such as inflation and GDP growth projections.
Dr. Ato Forson is also likely to address concerns raised by key stakeholders over the implementation of some major policy initiatives and social intervention programmes.
Many anticipate clarifications on the controversial GHC1 fuel levy, the performance of the Ghana Revenue Authority’s tax reforms, and ongoing infrastructure commitments.
The mid-year review is also expected to pave the way for possible expenditure re-alignments, especially in sectors like education, health, and agriculture, which continue to experience budgetary pressures.
