Final year student killed by truck

Dambai (V/R), Dec. 13, GNA- A final year student of the Dambai Training College, Happy Fiagbor, died instantly when she was ran over by a Benz truck with registration No. AS 948 E, which was travelling from Dambai to Nkwanta?

A source told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the deceased fell from her bicycle when the Benz truck attempted to overtake Happy and her colleague she was riding with, killing her instantly. The source said the driver drove off after the incident but was arrested later by the Nkwanta Police. The deceased was being carried on a bicycle by another final year student, Nelson Tam to Ofosu in the Nkwanta District when the accident occurred.

Tam who sustained injuries was receiving treatment at the Nkwanta District Hospital.

The deceased who hailed from Tanyigbe in the Ho Municipality and Tam were doing their teaching practice at the Dambai Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Primary School.

The driver whose name was not disclosed is in police custody and the vehicle impounded.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Nkwanta District Hospital for an autopsy.
