Final Year Legon Student Dismissed

A final year student of the University of Ghana has been dismissed for raping a female student. This was after he confessed to raping a third year student in November last year. Mr Tekpor is reported to have tricked and lured the lady, who is married into his room at Akuafo Hall and succeeded in raping her after subjecting her to severe physical pressure. The lady is reported to be living under severe trauma and stress.

A statement issued by the University Relations Office said Mr Tekpor confessed to the crime in the presence of some members of his family and authorities of the University.

The University therefore concluded after its investigations that ” Mr Tekpor is an unreliable, dangerous and elusive character and indeed a fraudster whose entire conduct is unbecoming of a university student.” The statement said the summary dismissal of Mr Tekpor is without prejudice to whatever legal action that might be instituted against him as a result of the incident.
