Fifty Senior Citizens in Breman receive awards

Breman Asikuma (C/R), July 6, GNA – Fifty Senior Citizens, who have rendered dedicated services to the nation were honoured with cash on the occasion of the 51st Republic Day anniversary celebration at Breman Asikuma.

Six of them were given a special award of waxprints.

The six included Mr Stantos Albert Yao Gattago, Ghana education Service, Mr Ofori Dadzie, former Banker in United Kingdom, Mr Badu Eduah, Chairman, Ghana Government Pensioners Association in the District, Nana Afful Yankoe III, Krontihene, Breman Asikuma Traditional council, Mrs Dorcas Commey, former Presiding Member, Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Assembly and Mr Emmanuel T. Mensah, formerly of the National Commission for Civic Education.

Making the presentation, the District Chief Executive for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa, Mrs Georgina Nkroma Aboah congratulated the senior citizens, adding that good values including respect, dedication to duty and spirit of volunteerism they had exhibited earned them the awards.

She therefore appealed to those yet in public service to learn from this example of the senior citizens and avail their experiences to help develop the District and the nation as a whole.
