Fifty-nine year-old porter appears before Court for defilement

A 59-year-old porter at Nkawkaw has appeared before the Mpraeso circuit court for defiling a nine year old girl.

The porter, Kwaku Adofo pleaded not guilty to the charge and has been granted court bail.

Prosecuting, Detective Inspector Apronti told the court that, in October last year, the victim fell sick and when questioned by her grandmother, she said she has been defiled by Adofo on three occasions when she was sent to pick firewood from Adofo’s house.

He said on the three occasions that the victim was sent to the house of Adofo, he lured the victim into his room and had sexual intercourse with her.

The prosecutor said the case was reported to the police and a medical form was issued to her grandmother for medical examination and treatment.

He said Adofo was later arrested and after investigation charged with the offence.
