FIDA expresses worry over permissiveness about sex in society

Ho, Sept. 15, GNA 96 Ms Efua Brown Eyeson, member of the International Federation of Female Lawyers (FIDA), has expressed worry over the raging permissiveness about sex in the society. She said sexual indulgence had left several people bitter, regretful and wishing they had had another opportunity to re-live their lives.

Ms Eyeson was interacting with participants at an all male interactive session on the rights of women, children and domestic violence in Ho.

Christian and Moslem religious leaders, representatives of labour and health workers among others attended the forum. Ms Eyeson said there was so much indiscipline when it came to sex, adding that there was largely 93no love and care in relationships but sex.=94

She said the workshop, under the aegis of FIDA and sponsored by the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), was aimed at =93propping men to support gender rights issues.=94

Ms Eyeson said the knowledge and enjoyment of rights by women and children was linked to development and must be promoted in society. In a comment on the Intestate Succession Law, Ms Eyeson suggested that couples prepared joint ownership documents on their properties to make things easy for property administrators on their death. Mr James Mensah Kulley, also a legal practitioner with the FIDA said it was one thing knowing the rights of children and another respecting them.
