FIC Brothers Donate Computers to Nandom Secondary

Nandom, March 12, GNA- Fathers of Immaculate Conception, (FIC) Brothers in Wa at the weekend donated 12 computers and their accessories valued at 30 million cedis to Nandom Senior Secondary school. Apart from the computers, the Brothers in collaboration with the school authorities would also assist the school to connect Ghana Telecommunication and other networks for students to access information relevant to their areas of study.

The Reverend Brother Nicholas Zumanaa, Provincial Superior of the FIC Brothers announced these when he presented the computers to Reverend Brother Cosmas Kanmwaa, headmaster of the school.

The provincial Superior said the entire world had metamorphosed into a computer one and so lack of computers in a particular school was likely to impact negatively on the students, hence their donation. Reverend Brother Kanmwaa who received the computers commended the group for their kind gesture and gave the assurance that they would use the computers judiciously to acquire more knowledge that would catapult them to great heights.

He appealed to the students to remain disciplined and committed to the tenets of education to enable them to become responsible citizens in future. Nandom Secondary School, which was established in 1968 by the Catholic Church admits only boys from all over the country, irrespective of their religious and ethnic affiliations. It has also trained a lot of students, some of who are in responsible positions throughout the country. 12 March 2006
