FEUDING MEMBERS OF ASHANTI NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY MEET IN ACCRA

Representatives of groups involved in the alleged crisis within the Ashanti Region branch of the NPP have attended a meeting at the party’s head office in Accra. Also present were national officers and selected members of the Council of Elders led by the National Chairman, Mr. Peter Ala Adjetey as well as a delegation from the Ashanti Region NPP Chairmen’s Association and Professor Adu Boahen and Mr.. J. A. Kufuor. A statement issued later said it became clear during the meeting that what was nothing more than normal group misunderstandings were blown out of all proportions by a few unscrupulous individuals and fed to the media. Stressing that the so-called crisis has been resolved, the statement assured party supporters that the Ashanti Regional Congress scheduled for the 25th of this month will be held in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. It is hoped every party member would accept the results of the elections to be held at the congress. End
