FESTIVALS REVEAL ANCIENT HISTORY AND TEACHES TABOOS – ATIPAMHENE OF ANHWIASO TRADITIONAL AREA

The Atipemhene of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area and Chief of Adiemra, Nana Kwadwo Bonyah II, has stated that festivals allow us to learn about our ancient history and teach taboos—what we should not do.

He made this remark during an interview on Okyeame Radio’s Oman No Adwuma show, hosted by AkuapemHann, ahead of the 2025 Eluo Festival in the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area.

Nana noted that indiscipline among the youth has surged in recent times, adding, “Culture should not be discarded,” as it enables posterity to learn valuable lessons.

Nana Bonyah assured that security will be tight during the grand durbar in Bibiani, with arrangements already made with municipal security agencies to maintain order on the day.

He urged the youth to behave responsibly to avoid falling foul of the law, warning that anyone apprehended for misbehaviour will face legal consequences.

He concluded by calling for unity to drive progress and development in Anhwiasoman.
