Female student defiled in a shop

Tema, Oct. 08, GNA – The Tema circuit Court “B” has remanded a 19-year-old shop attendant for defilement.

Francis Acheampong, the shop attendant, pleaded not guilty to a charge of having sex with a girl less than 16 years.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Teye Matey told the court presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that on September 9 this year, the victim who had come to visit her mother during the holidays at Sebrepor near Ashaiman, went to the shop of the accused person to buy a chewing gum.

Inspector Matey said the accused person dragged the victim inside the shop, closed her mouth and forcibly had sex with her.

The prosecution said after the act, the accused person gave the victim a biscuit and Malta Guinness.

Inspector Matey said the victim narrated the ordeal she went through to her mother when she got hiome.

The prosecution said the case was reported to the Ashaiman police, leading to the arrest of Acheampong.
