Felix Ofosu-Kwakye for Info Ministry

Credible signals picked up by The New Independent newspaper as at press time yesterday indicate that, barring any last minute hitches, the Outspoken National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth activist, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, will be heading for the Information Ministry as one of the two Deputy Ministers.

Credible sources close to the presidency told The New Independent newspaper that, the outspoken and seemingly abrasive young politician, has been slated for the position due to his excellent communication skills as well as his ability to properly propagate the visions and programmes of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) on various platforms.

Mr. Ofosu Kwakye, who is also an expert in oil and gas matters by training, has always been on the frontline ensuring that the party’s agenda is disseminated across the country. His appointment will be seen by political watchers as a massive promotion in the new Mahama administration.

According to party insiders, the in-coming Deputy Information Minister has demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that, he is a true party communicator, who can really help disseminate government policies and programmes at the ministry.

His expected appointment however may not go down well with a section of Ghanaians, particularly members of the opposition who hold the view that the young politician is not qualified for that position due to his perceived abrasive stance on some issues. He has also been accused of exhibiting tendencies that qualify for arrogance.

It would be expected however that Mr. Ofosu Kwakye will prove his critics wrong when he appears before the Appointments Committee of Parliament for vetting when his appointment is finally made public.

Mr. Ofosu-Kwaakye will also work with another young politician, who is yet to be named. It is expected that, the young pair will ably assist their boss, Mahama Ayariga, to discharge his duties efficiently.
