Federation of Catholic Ewe Union in Sekondi-Takoradi inaugurated

Takoradi, April 13, GNA – Ewe-speaking members of the Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese of the Catholic Church have formed a federation to promote the welfare and spiritual growth of members. This, they hope to achieve by inculcating among members regular Bible reading and also celebrating Mass in their home language for better understanding. The Union was inaugurated by Reverend Father Isaac Anyan of the Takoradi Parish of the Church on behalf of Most Reverend Martin Darko, Bishop of the Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese, at Takoradi on Saturday.

Father Anyan congratulated members of the Union for coming together and hoped this would further enhance the growth of the Church. He said as Christians, they must lead lives worthy of emulation wherever they may find themselves by adhering strictly to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Mr Philip Sebuabe, President of the Union, said leaders of the Union would work hard to make it one of the vibrant societies within the Diocese. He said the Union would plan its activities to ensure that they become beneficial to the Church and the community.
