Farmers Urged To Team Up For Credit Facilities

Dunkwa-on-Offin (Central Region) 23, Sept. Farmers in the oil-palm, coconut and kola-nut production, have been urged to come together as groups to benefit from credit facilities provided by the government and financial institution. The call was made by Mr Kwabena Poku, national organiser of the Ghana Oil-palm, Coconut and Kola-nut Farmers’ Association at a meeting with farmers in the Upper Denkyira District at Dunkwa-on-Offin. The meeting was to educate the farmers on the need to diversify their cash crop production and how to attract loans offered by the government and financial institutions. Among the issues discussed at the meeting were marketing avenues and pricing policies of agricultural produce.
