Farmers call for assistance from government

Mankranso (Ash), Dec 28, GNA – Cassava farmers and grass cutter breeders in the Ahafo-Ano South District have appealed to the government to assist them with loans and equipment to expand their farms. They said they have formed associations and were in a position to fulfil regulations governing accessing loans.

The farmers made the appeal at a meeting at Mankranso during which the district office of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) explained policies on the President’s Special Initiatives (PSI) to them. Mr Victor Owusu-Ansah, the Development Officer at the district office of MOFA, addressed the farmers and inspected their farms.
