Teawia (E/R), Sept 30, GNA- The people of Teawia, mostly farmers, in the East Akim District of the Eastern Region, have appealed to the government to rehabilitate a six-kilometre Ntronang -Akoase road to transport cocoa and foodstuffs to the marketing centres.

Speaking to the GNA at Teawia, Mr. Robert Nkrumah, Marketing Clerk of the Produce Buying Company (PBC), said there are more than 25 surrounding villages engaged in large-scale cocoa and food crops production.

Nana Adu Gyamfi, Gyaasehene of Teawia said the town has been denied development projects and this he said, discourages them from working hard to increase productivity.

He appealed to the District Assembly to provide the area with social amenities including schools KVIP toilets, and markets.
