Farmer remanded in prison custody

Half Assini (W/R) Sept. 3, GNA – The Half Assini District magistrate court has remanded a farmer at Nyamekesuazo village in the Jomoro District in connection with the death of a farmer of the same village.

The plea of Mr Kwaw Kojo Abi, the suspect, was not taken and the court presided over by Mr Hanz Kpogo remanded him to reappear on September 26.

Police Inspector Kenneth K. Doe told the court that on July 31 Abi called the deceased, Opanyin Edward Anlimah, from his house to have a drink with him in a nearby village at about 1630 hours.

He said the suspect came home without the deceased person and when his wife asked Abi about the whereabouts of her husband, he replied that they went their separate ways and did not know where he had gone.

Inspector Doe said at about 2000 hours the same day, Anlimah’s body was found along the road to the village where they went to drink with some needle holes on the body, an indication that the blood had been drained.
