Farmer remanded for unlawful carnal knowledge

Bibiani (W/R), April 27, GNA – The Bibiani magistrate’s court has remanded Joseph Acquah, alias Kwabena Nzema, 48, into prison custody for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge with a 12-year-old school boy at Akamateng, near Sefwi-Bekwai.

His plea was not taken and will re-appear on May 5. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector A. C. Frimpong told the court presided over by Mr Dickson Emmanuel Kwasi Darketsey that the victim (name withheld) was staying with this grandmother at Akamateng, near Sefwi-Bekwai.

According to the prosecution, Acquah succeeded in luring the victim to sleep with him in his room and always asked the boy to go back to his grandmother every morning to fetch water for her before going to school.

Chief Inspector Frimpong said Acquah took advantage of the situation and had anal sex with the victim on several occasions and warned the boy not to inform anybody but he unable to contain the situation, so he disclosed it to his friends in school, who also informed the victim’s parents.

A report was made to the police who effected the arrest of Acquah and sent to court after investigations.
