Akim Swedru (E/R), Aug. 8, GNA – The Akim Swedru Circuit Court has remanded Samuel Owusu, a 35-year old farmer into police custody for allegedly inserting his finger into the genital organ of a four-year-old girl.

Owusu pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to reappear on August 11, 2008.

The prosecution told the court presided over by Mr. Edward Kwame Bosompem Apenkwah that at about 1200 hours on May 3, this year, the victim and her elder sister returned from school and while preparing for their lunch, Owusu who was also returning from his cocoa farm, invited the victim to accompany him to his house.

After waiting for some time without the victim showing up, her sister followed up and heard screaming from the nearby bush. She followed the sound until she spotted Owusu who had dipped his left fingers into the vagina of the victim, while fondling her breast. The prosecution said the victim took her sister who was bleeding from her private part, home and reported the matter to their parents, who intend made a report to the police.
