Farmer remanded for inflicting cutlass wounds on in-law

Breman Beedum (C/R), Oct. 10, GNA – A district magistrate court at Breman Asikuma on Tuesday remanded a 40-year-old man for inflicting multiple cutlass wounds on his brother-in-law.

Kwesi Owu pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on October 16. Police Chief Inspector Gershon Awuyeh told the court that Owu and his wife stayed in a family house with some other members including Samuel Dwiah, the brother-in-law, at Breman Beedum. He said the accused person and his wife, who have of late been engaging in quarrels in the house, were ordered to leave the house but they refused.

Chief Inspect Awuyeh said on the October 6, Owu and the wife had a quarrel and Dwiah asked his sister to sleep in his room. He said the accused person followed his wife to the brother-in-law’s room and this resulted in a quarrel between the two men. Owu picked a cutlass he found in the room and inflicted multiple wounds on Dwiah.

The accused attempted to ran away but with the help of people in the area he was apprehended and sent to the police station.
