Farmer remanded for defilement

Asamankese, Nov. 10, GNA – A 31-year-old farmer, Kwaku George has been placed in prison custody by the Asamankese Circuit Court, for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.

His plea was not taken and is to re-appear on November 24. Prosecuting, Police Inspector E. M. Zokottoh said on September 12, this year, the accused lured the girl into his room with the pretext of sending her on an errand and forcibly had sex with her. After the act George threatened the victim with death if she disclosed it to any one.

Inspector Zokottoh said on September 16, the girl who could not withstand the pain broke the news, leading to the arrest of the accused. A medical report revealed that the girl had been sexually assaulted.
