Farmer remanded for abduction.

Juaso (Ash), June 23, GNA – A farmer who allegedly abducted an 18 year old girl as she accompanied mourners at Juaso has been remanded by a circuit court at Juaso.

Kwasi Richard pleaded not guilty to the charges of abduction. Chief Inspector F.K. Ofori told the court presided over by Jacob Boon that on June 5, 2004, at 6:40 am, the victim accompanied her mother to a funeral at Juaso.

He said after the funeral in the evening, the victim failed to return to the cottage, and all efforts by the mother to trace her proved futile.

On June 10, the girl’s mother made her own enquires and got to know that the victim was in the accused person’s room.

Chief Inspector Ofori said a report was made to the police at Juaso and Richard was arrested, adding that during investigations, the victim denied that accused abused her sexually.

The court ordered that the victim should be medically examined to ascertain whether she has been abused. 23 June 04
