Farmer kills wife for making love with another man

Ho, May 22, GNA – Ebenezer Kwaku Ahiaku, 49, a farmer, on May 17 stabbed his wife to death when he allegedly walked into her at night having sex with another man at Kpedze.

Happy Ahiaku, also known as Happy Onifade 28 who fainted after the attack but regained consciousness to shout for help, died on the reaching the Dzolo-Gborgame Health Post.

Ahiaku was remanded in prison custody by a Ho High court while police continue with investigations.

Mr David Dzokoto, Detective Lance Corporal at Anyirawasem, said Ahiaku married Happy in 1998 while in Nigeria and relocated to Kpedze in 2000.

He said Ahiaku told police that in 2006, as a result of Happy’s attitude and long stays in town, sometimes overnight, he (Ahiaku) suspected she was having an affair with another man. Mr Dzokoto said Ahiaku mentioned one Kwasi, a carpenter, as his wife’s alleged lover. Ahaiku said when all attempts to counsel his wife to stop misbehaving failed he started monitoring her movements. On that day, according to Ahiaku, she as usual went out at about 2300 hours and Ahiaku went looking for her in Kwasi’s house but did not meet her.

Ahiaku said while he was returning, he saw two figures against a low-tension power distribution pole and when he went near he saw Happy and her lover having sex “dog fashion”. He said Kwasi disengaged himself and took to his heels and Ahiaku chased him but when he failed to catch up with him. Ahiaku returned to meet Happy somewhere around the scene and stabbed her.

Mr Dzokoto said Ahiaku escaped to Ave-Posmonu in the Akatsi District where he was arrested the following day.
