Farmer kills mother

A 30-year-old farmer at Hwidiem in the Asutifi district who allegedly slashed off his mother’s head with a cutlass has been remanded in custody by a community tribunal at Goaso Abu Abudulai, is said to have killed his mother because he thought she was thwarting his progress in life. Abu was before the court for committal proceedings to determine whether or not he should be indicted to stand trial at the High Court. The tribunal presided over by Mr Willywise Kyeremeh head that on the night of March 29, Abu went to Madam Ramatu Abuduali’s house at Hwidiem to request for kerosene. The suspect who had a sharpened cutlass concealed under his cloth slashed the neck of his mother as she poured the kerosine for him. The accused was arrested when he attempted to run away and handed over to the police. Madam Ramatu Abudulai has since been buried after a postmortem at the Goaso Government Hospital.
