Farmer jailed two years for threatening.

Juaso (Ash), Feb 17, GNA – A 50-year-old farmer at Banso near Juaso who threatened to kill his mother and niece has appeared before a Juaso circuit court and pleaded guilty to a charge of threat of death.

Prosecuting, ASP Godfred Anim told the court that on January 18 Nicholas Kyei ordered his niece, who had been offered a room at a new house built by Kyei’s mother, to leave the building. Kyei threatened that if his niece did not leave he would set fire to the building.

ASP Anim said the girl informed Kyei’s mother about the threat and while she was thinking of what action to take someone informed her that her son had vowed to burn the building and its occupants. That night Kyei attempted to set fire to the house and a report was made to the police who arrested him.
