Juaso (Ash), April 19, GNA-A circuit at Juaso has sentenced a 24-year-old farmer from Achiase near Konongo to nine years imprisonment for defiling an 11-year-old girl.
Kofi Afrane alias Krokro, who used 10,000 cedis to lure the girl, pleaded guilty to a charge of defilement.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Obeng Dompreh told the court presided over by Mr Jacob Boon that about a month ago, Afrane promised the victim that he would give her 10,000 cedis. The prosecutor said on April 5, at about 1400 hours, Afrane dragged the victim into his room and sexually abused her, when she went to the house of the accused to collect the money.
ASP Dompreh said the girl reported the incident to her mother who lodged a complaint with the police at Achiase. He said during investigations, Afrane admitted that he committed the offence but explained that the victim was his girlfriend and that he had sex with her on three different occasions. 19 April, 05
