Farmer jailed for threat of death

A Bibiani Magistrates’ Court presided over by Mr Osei Kofi Amoako, has sentenced a 25-year-old farmer to 12 months imprisonment for threatening to kill a trader.

The complainant, Madam Abena Nkrumah, had reported Tweneboa Kodua to the police sometime ago over the theft of some items, and he vowed never to forgive her for that.

He armed himself with a kitchen knife and stormed the house of the woman at Bibiani Old-Town on July 25, at about 1900 hours and threatened her with death.

Police Detective Chief Inspector Alex Asamoah told the court that Madam Nkrumah, fearing for her life, run to the police station to lodge a formal complaint, and he was arrested.

Kodua pleaded guilty and was convicted accordingly.
