Farmer jailed for defiling four-year-old girl

A circuit court at Fiapre in the Brong Ahafo Region has sentenced a 21-year-old farmer to 12 years imprisonment for defiling a four-year -old girl at Wawasua, a village near Sunyani.

Kwaku Ahenkana pleaded guilty.

Police Chief Inspector Baafi told the court presided over by Mr. Yaw Osei that the convict and the victim’s mother lived in the same vicinity at Wawasua.

The court heard that on July 24, Ahenkana asked the victim to remove something from a trench, and when she entered the gutter, the convict also entered and defiled her through the anus.

Chief Insp. Baafi said the girl’s mother saw her (girl) holding her pants and blood oozing from her anus.

The prosecution said the girl told her mother about her ordeal, and she (mother) raised the alarm, which attracted some people, who assisted her to arrest the convict.
